Person Critical After Newark Shooting: Prosecutor

A person is critical condition after a shooting in Newark on the early morning of Saturday Aug. 10, authorities said.

The person was shot in the head on the 800 block of Elizabeth Avenue at around 1:50 a.m., the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are in critical condition, authorities said.

The shooting remains under investigation, authorities said.
